I am on a new fish kick. Yes nursing the baby has dramatically slimmed me down- but now this new mom wants to tighten things up! I love, love, love the fish tacos from In the Raw in Norman. They are not on a hubby budget ;) sooo we went to The Big Tuna last night after church. With the onion rings came this YUMMY sauce that was like tartar sauce with a kick in the butt. The semi chef and owner came by and Lance asked him what it was called- 'remoulade sauce'. So today I wanted fish tacos and decided to add this sauce.
I got this fish fry recipe from Miranda Beatty an ex co-worker from Kennedy-http://wherethechildplays.blogspot.com/p/where-children-play.html it was super easy and quick. Especially when you have a lil babe who wants to be held while I'm cooking dinner.
2 Filets of flounder- I used the frozen bag kind from Target
handful of crushed up saltines
2 handfuls of italian breadcrumbs
salt, pepper
I add Louisiana Cajun Seasoning for a bit o spice
- Fry up some EVOO in a pan and cook each piece til golden brown
To make the sauce:
1 cup miracle whip
quarter cup mustard
tbsp paprika
2 tsp cajun spice
tsp pickle juice/ hot sauce
dash of garlic powder
mix all together and serve
I used small flower tortillas, Lance likes corn so he used that... I cut up spinach leaves into strips and diced some cherry tomatoes. It was delish and tasted just like In the Raw.
